On November 5th, Thinkspace opened Yore, the second solo exhibit by Brazilian artist João Ruas which features his signature mythos paintings along with several pieces painted on ostrich eggs and a mural installation.

Mythology has always been a captivating subject for the arts due to the fanciful yet authentic features they capture of the human psyche.  João Ruas continues the tradition of this classical art form with his unique aesthetic on archaic folklore. Blending ancient deities with contemporary settings, Ruas’ artwork explores the connection between our modern world and a bygone era.

Ruas’ stunning  body of work is a must see, so be sure to make your way to the gallery before the exhibit ends. Yore is on view until November 26th at Thinkspace Gallery.
