On Thursday, August 2nd Design Matters Gallery will present, “Little of a Muchness”, an exhibition of works by Rebecca Lowry. With a razor-sharp eye, Lowry creates object-poems where content, media, and method are carefully selected and integrated; by re-imagining context and layering juxtapositions upon each other like wood blocks, Lowry forces new readings that are sublime and moving in their depth, breadth, and resonance.
“I create relationships between texts, objects, and actions, as a means of modifying and reinforcing the associations already inherent in them.”, states Lowry. “In a sense, these are object-based poems. As a poet writes with words…I write with objects and texts, employing their various qualities and the relationships between them.”
